This will be my last letter as San Antonio Chapter President and it has been an interesting year to say the least. I assumed the role early under unfortunate circumstances – my predecessor, Chapter President Keith Russell, passed away in April 2008 – and the economic and business challenges we have all faced since then have been unprecedented in many ways. Nevertheless, your chapter has managed to hold its own despite the turmoil. I would like to thank the members who stepped up and volunteered their time and efforts to support the chapter in leadership positions over the last year. I would particularly like to thank Tim Geppert, Don Rogers and the Membership Committee for working to put our recruiting efforts back on track. This is critical to maintaining the vitality of our chapter.
Our regular meeting season was over in May, and we are now into our summer professional development sessions. Three summer programs are planned, one each in June, July and August. A fourth session will be held in September before chapter year kickoff, our annual social event on September 24: FEI Night at Retama Park. As is our custom, chapter members may bring members of their financial staff who need the CPE credit at no charge. Scroll down to the “Chapter Events” section for more information. |
